Every year in the month of May, on the island of Poros, the International Marine Tourism Symposium (International Yachting Convention) takes place. It’s the only official exhibition of certified yachts.
The International Yachting Convention is the largest celebration of the most profitable part of our tourism which is luxury vessel rentals (including the crew).
For five days marine tourism is the highlight of all events in the picturesque harbor of Poros, where many boats dock, representing the elite of the Greek fleet.
The exhibition is organized by the Association of Greek Yacht Owners (EPEST) and the Greek Association of Brokers & Yacht Experts (ESMETH), under the auspices of the City of Poros and EOT.
In this exhibition, brokers who charter the Greek tourist ships come from all parts of the world. At the same time, most manned Greek tourist ships are sent to Poros. This gives foreign brokers, within the first 4 days of the exhibit, the opportunity to meet the Greek crews, discuss with them, try the Greek cuisine and examine each Greek tourist ship’s condition. In conclusion, returning to their countries, they promote Greek yachting to their foreign clients.
Throughout the exhibition, the harbor is a spectacular sight of luxury boats all along the waterfront of Poros, where beach lovers will have the opportunity to see the best staffed yachts in Greece.
The Symposium’s Organizing Committee in association with agencies and founders of the Conference have included many corresponding events during the festival, such as a culinary contest, and many theme parties.
